Professor Nakamoto has dedicated over 50 years to the research and development of slow sand filtration systems in the field of water supply. His work has particularly focused on the role of microorganisms in this method—which has been used in Japan’s water treatment plants for over a century—and on developing sustainable and efficient operational practices. His contributions have greatly advanced water treatment technologies both domestically and internationally.
Even after receiving the title of Professor Emeritus from Shinshu University, Professor Nakamoto—now in his eighties—continues to devote himself passionately to promoting accurate understanding and widespread adoption of slow sand filtration.
We are truly honored to welcome Professor Nakamoto as an advisor at this pivotal stage of our company’s founding. We are confident that his extensive knowledge and experience will be a valuable asset in shaping our future initiatives.
Our company remains committed to contributing to the advancement of water supply systems in Japan and around the world through unique technologies such as biosand filtration (an alternative name for slow sand filtration) and upflow roughing filtration.
